About A–Z America

A–Z America is an independent travel publication covering the Americas. We write practical guides for people who plan their own trips: which regions are worth the detour, how to string them together by car, bus or train, what to eat when you get there, and the history and Indigenous cultures that explain what you are looking at. We are not affiliated with any tourism board, airline, tour operator or hotel group.

What we cover

Who it is for

Independent travellers in the United States and Canada planning trips anywhere from the Yukon to Tierra del Fuego: first-timers who want a clear plan, road-trippers looking for routes beyond the obvious, and repeat visitors who want to understand a place rather than just see it.

How we research and write

Guides are built from official sources (national and provincial park services, transport operators, tourism authorities and government travel pages) together with regional histories, museum and cultural-centre publications, and long-form reporting. Each article links the sources it relies on, and every external link is checked before publishing. Where seasons, routes or rules vary, we say so rather than pretending one answer fits every trip.

We are not paid by manufacturers, schools, software makers or shops to cover them, and we do not publish sponsored articles. If a product is mentioned, it is because it is what the task actually calls for.
